I had a mixed experience at the Doubletree in Waikiki. The location is definitely a plus, just a short stroll to the beach and nearby attractions. However, the resort fees felt excessive for what the hotel offered, especially since they didn't really feel like a resort. While the staff was generally friendly and helpful, I was disappointed with the lack of a proper upgrade for my room and the parking fees were a real bummer.

Rooms
7.0
I was upgraded to a junior suite with views of Waikiki beach, which was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was nice, and I appreciated the central AC, but I found the TV setup a bit odd since there was only one TV.
Service
6.0
Most of the staff were friendly and willing to help, especially Leslie at the front desk. However, I did encounter a bit of inconsistency with service, particularly regarding room upgrades and check-in process.
Location
9.0
The hotel is conveniently located between Ala Moana mall and Waikiki beach, making it easy to explore the area on foot. I appreciated the accessibility to local eateries and shops.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast options were okay; they offered a continental spread and a buffet with an egg station. I enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast, but if I had to pay full price for the hot breakfast, I wouldn't say it was worth it.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had a small pool and gym that were fine for a quick dip or workout, but it didn't feel like a resort. The high resort fees were quite frustrating, especially given the limited hotel features.

6.0/10

My stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Beach was a mixed experience. The location is fantastic, being just a short walk from the beach and Ala Moana, plus the staff were genuinely friendly. However, the room cleanliness and value for the resort fee left something to be desired, as it seemed high for what was included.

Rooms
6.0
The room had a great layout with comfortable beds, though I found the bathroom to be smaller than expected. There was good closet space and the amenities like the Keurig and microwave were handy. I did notice the toilet paper holder was awkwardly placed, which was a slight inconvenience.
Service
6.0
Overall, the staff was very welcoming and eager to help. I particularly appreciated the check-in experience with the digital key, which made things easy. However, I encountered some issues with management’s lack of communication about my belongings left behind, which was frustrating.
Location
8.0
The hotel is perfectly situated about three blocks from Waikiki Beach, making it easy to explore the area. It’s also close to Ala Moana and other shops, so I had plenty of options for dining and entertainment.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed the breakfast options; the buffet was fresh and had a good variety. The omelet bar was a nice touch, and I appreciated that breakfast was included as part of my Diamond membership. I did find the dining experience overall to be good, despite some remarks I've seen.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities were sufficient for a business hotel, but I felt that the resort fee was a bit high for what was offered. The pool area was small, although it had a nice setup. I think having more recreational facilities would enhance the experience, especially since there was no whirlpool.

I had a wonderful stay at Doubletree By Hilton Alana - Waikiki Beach. The staff made me feel like family and were always eager to assist. The rooms were clean and comfortable, perfect for a restful night after spending my days exploring. However, there were some hiccups with breakfast service that need addressing.

Rooms

My room was spacious and clean, allowing me to unwind comfortably. The hot water worked perfectly, and I loved the neighbors' sounds from my balcony at night.
Service
10.0
The service was the highlight of my stay. Henry at the front desk was friendly, and Qian provided really good service, remembering my preferences from previous visits.
Location
9.0
The hotel is ideally situated at the quieter end of Waikiki, within walking distance to shopping and the beach, which made my excursions easy to access.
Dining
7.0
While the breakfast options had a surcharge for hot items that wasn't well communicated, the pastries and warm cookies at check-in were a good treat.
Facilities
8.0
The amenities met my needs, although I felt the breakfast area could use more staff to improve the experience. It was also great to have valets who were friendly and efficient.

7.4/10

I enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Alana - Waikiki Beach, with its great location and clean, spacious rooms. However, the steep resort fees and valet parking charges were quite off-putting. Overall, I found the hotel suitable for a Hawaiian getaway, especially due to the helpful and friendly staff that made my experience more enjoyable.

Rooms
8.0
My room was surprisingly spacious, and I appreciated the upgrade to a junior suite with views of Waikiki Beach. The bed was comfy, and the climate control worked well. However, the layout with only one TV made it tricky to watch from the bed if the partition was closed.
Service
9.0
Service was mostly excellent, with staff like Leslie standing out for her friendliness and willingness to help. The check-in process was smooth, and I enjoyed the warm cookies upon arrival.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was pretty convenient, being a short walk from both Ala Moana and Waikiki beach, although I found the area a bit quiet once afternoon hit. It was easy to get to various local spots for dining and shopping.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were decent; I found the breakfast buffet okay but overpriced if paying out of pocket. The happy hour offerings were enjoyable, though.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were satisfactory, with helpful reception staff and valet service. However, I was disappointed by the additional resort fees, which felt unnecessary.

I had a mostly enjoyable stay at Doubletree by Hilton Alana - Waikiki Beach, but not without some hiccups. The location was perfect, just a short walk to Waikiki Beach, and the staff were super friendly. However, I had some issues with dampness in my room and inconsistent housekeeping services that did put a damper on my experience. Overall, it was a decent trip with great amenities but some room for improvement.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and clean, but I dealt with some dampness that made it less comfortable. The bed was super comfortable, which I appreciated.
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the valets and the front desk team, who always greeted me with a smile.
Location
9.0
I loved the location; it was close enough to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki but still quiet enough to relax. I could walk to the beach and nearby shops easily.
Dining
7.0
The dining options were decent, but the breakfast buffet felt a bit pricey if you weren't a higher tier member. However, I did enjoy good food during my stay.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel's facilities were great, offering amenities like a fitness center and pools that I took advantage of, but I felt some areas were a bit dated.
